Our forefathers were rice growers on land owned in the city of Gujranwala and they traded grain at the Wazirabad Grain Market in Central Punjab, Pakistan. In the late 1940’s they owned a rice mill that performed husking operations.
Many Years later in the 1980’s, Mr. Mazhar Vakil Malik, CEO at Long Grain Rice Mills, became a partner at a project known as Safa Rice Mills. Safa Rice Mills, specialized in parboiled rice and back in the day, it had a processing plant consisting of machinery imported from Italy.
Thereafter, Mr. Mazhar Vakil Malik, decided to setup Long Grain Rice Mills and it was incorporated in the year 1992.
Long Grain Rice Mills has exported more than a hundred thousand tonnes of prime quality rice to date.
